The Surfside Beach Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit organization that provides fire protective services for the Village of Surfside Beach, San Luis Subdivision, Treasure Island, and county areas east of the Freeport Channel between the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway. The Surfside Beach Volunteer Fire Department also provides and receives mutual aide to and from Oyster Creek, Freeport, and other areas of the county.

The VFD is happy to take applications for potential volunteers. To qualify, you must be 18 years of age or older and hold at least an Introductory Certification in Firefighting.
